The Bermuda Onion has a sweet and mild flavor and was a popular export when agriculture was a major industry for the island.
Today locals refer to themselves as Bermuda onions. Like the vegetable, we too are known for are sweet and mild manor. ;-) Enjoy the Blog!

Response to my Facebook Status

I know this is a touchy subject and my status was for comedic value only. I work for the Bermuda Government London Office and yes Friday was a media circus for us here in London also, however I remain neutral. What i will say is this. Both sides have valid arguments, and the news reports are not the end all be all of information. As a result, most of their stories are based on speculation. Going so far as to say Bermuda is making a deal with America to remain a tax haven and blaming us for the worlds downfall, when just 3 days earlier they applauded Paula Cox's efforts and Bermuda's actions to demonstrate we are not. This is just one example.

The intentions for relocating the four to Bermuda were good intentions, and that i can not fault anyone for.

These four are not the only to be relocated, 17 are to be relocated to Palau who will get a reported 125million dollars for it. That is roughly $10,000 American dollars for each inhabitant of the island. These are just the facts. There have been no reports on Bermuda to receive anything like this, and i would frown upon anyone who says we should.

Bermuda really is caught in a crossfire between the UK and the US. Who feel the US is an Ally who intentionally did not inform the UK about their plannings. At least Brown did call the governor b4 the refugees landed.

My plea to the People of Bermuda is not to be so quick to judge yet. This feud is between Mega Powers America, United Kingdom and China, none of it has been orchestrated by the these four refugees and it wasn't their decision to relocate to Bermuda. PLEASE DO NOT TREAT THEM AS IF THIS IS THEIR FAULT!!! Lets show the world regardless of whether the decision to bring them here is right or wrong, that we are truly a friendly, hospitable country. Qualities that we so internationally pride ourselves on.

And they do need our help fashion wise, i repeat DID YOU SEE THE PICTURES?!!?

Catching the Bus to Work.

Traveling to work today was an adventure! I left home today at 8am with intentions of getting to work by 9. Little did I understand the effects of a tube strike!! There was PURE PEOPLE at each bus stop clammering to get onto the bus as the doors opened and closed. I actually don't think i even saw any sidewalk today, that's how many people were at each stop (spilling into the street might i add). As you can see from my spy cam cell phone shots I was safe away from street level on the bus and rode it to the end of the line, so I didn't have to fight people to squeeze off the bus. Even more so an adventure getting home, but I think I'll leave that for a webisode ;-)

Government of Bermuda London Office

So today was the beginning of a new chapter in the Onion in London saga. Why do I look like a flight attendant you ask? That is because it was my first day working at the Government of Bermuda London Office. As much as I try to pull myself away from the 9-5 it keeps pulling me back in with the seduction of steady pay haha. Plus I know i am good at it so I ain't fightin. Actually I am really excited about this because it seems like a team that really gels. Today I was given a binder of Ministers and Senators pictures to memorize, kinda like in Devil Wears Prada haha. I think I need to rent that film again for research. I may do a webisode on the office and my first week at work there so stay tuned. Plus, if you are a Bermudian studying in the UK please register at the Government of Bermuda London Office. You can search us on Facebook for more information.

5ive picks of the week

Each week I'll give a taste of what im listening to. A bit of something old, a bit of
something new, but definitely It'll be music that I'm listening to. It's not gonna
be a list of just "hot new tracks". If you want that you can look at the Top 40.

Jeremih - "Birthday Sex" You know how you hear a song for the first time and then no matter what you try, you can't seem to escape it. That's the case with Birthday Sex. The slow cut is so seductive and has been getting some major play in the US. Its so different from the other tracks of this week but I love it all the same.

Kat Deluna - "Dance Bailalo" This girl is a fighter and I an so So SO happy that she is back!! And with another massive summer hit!!!! How can you have the biggest summer hit in the US and massive international success only to be dropped by your label? Thats what happened to Kat, but she is back and hotter than ever!! Another track to check out is "Unstoppable" feat. Lil Wayne". May be another summer track for Kat.

Jereme Greene feat. Christina Milian - "Rain" For those of you who don't know, I am a HUGE fan of Christina Milian and this is 95% of the reason that this song gets plays on my list haha. Its a good song in itself, kudos to Jereme for choosing such candy for the collaboration. Be Forewarned!!! When Milian's album releases. I will be a Milian Mess!!!

Jordan Sparks - "Battlefield" This is the first single off of the American Idol's second album. This is gonna be the test to see if Jordan has staying power. "Battlefield" is a good statement to claim your place in the music industry. What the Idol machine has gotten right with Jordan that they failed with pass contestants is keeping the artist image the same that won them the competition. Sparks is on fire right now!!

Pussycat Dolls - "Hush Hush" First of all let me just say enough with the whole Nicole feat. The Dolls jokes. I dont think any of them are complaining. the other four might not have a career if it wasn't for Nicole, and it obvious from her failed solo attempts that Nicole needs the Dolls!! So lets talk about the song, I Love it haha. At first you think the fast sudden flip is a little cheesy and this is gonna be a mess. But the deeper you get into the song, the more the song consumes you, until you feel like going to American Apparel and buying some knee high socks and some skates for the rink tonight.

Locked Out

Simple post today but full of drama, at least for me anyway. I seem to have the worst luck sometimes. If you are wondering why there wasn't a post yesterday it was because i was locked out of my house. No i was not in any lovers quarrel, because at the moment i live alone. My Flatmate has gone to Bermuda for the summer (lucky devil), so as a ritual before leaving the house i stand at the door and do a check. The one time i don't do that, I realize that i dont have any keys as soon as the door closes!!!!
Get this, the key is at a friend's house who lives close by, but they have gone to work for the evening and wont be home (where the key is) until 2 maybe 3am. No problem, i can go to another friend's house nearby until 3 and wait. Only they are not home, neither is anyone else of my friends in London. Why did it seem everyone I knew had a life on this one occasion!!!! Long Story Short, I end up spending the night at a buddy's house half way across town (before i went there though, I did go to the gym to blow off a lot of steam) then go clear across town in the morning to pick up the spare key then finally home. Ive never been so happy to see unwashed dishes, nor have i ever worn the same pair of underwear for so long. These are the simple things in life one takes for granted.

Anyway, back up and running for tomorrow. Its time yet again, for another 5ive.

Perfectly Flawed Online Store

Take a look at the online store of the clothing line I modeled for.

Each month there will be a new addition to the collection, so it would behoove you to continue to check back regularly if you are an avid shopper. Ive been really surprised at the feedback I have been getting. And random recognition I am getting. Now by no means am I being followed by paps, but we will see how this collection takes off. Maybe eventually i will. I need to buy a pair of huge sunglasses just in case.......... Who am i kidding, I already own a pair haha.

10 ESSENTIALS

1: SkinMilk.
I discovered this when i was in L.A. the only drawback is you have to order it online here, but Its the Best Shower Gel and Lotion ever!!

2: Perfectly Flawed.
The hottest clothing line from London modeled my yours truly. The ne Spring and Summer line is out for sale. There is a link at the top of my page. Check it out.

3: MacBook Pro.
It was my Christmas present to me and if I may say so myself, the best present to date. My previous computer died on me so I had no choice. A laptop is a must in these times.

4: Sun Glasses.
Particularly Aviators. They are the best shape for my face i believe.

5: BlackBerry Messenger.
Its the only reason that turns the phone from a BlackBerry to a CrackBerry. Plus because I am so far from home, this is a free and easy way to keep in contact with all my friends back home.

6: Keri Hilson!!!
Its about time that this girl has come out with her own material!! I think she is soo talented and not to mention drop dead gorgeous!! First UK single "Return the Favor" feat. Timbaland

7: Gym Membership
I recently joined the GymBox. I have been hooked so far. I am having so much fun. there are three in London so far, Holborn, Covent Garden, and Bank. Check them out online.

8: Westfield Shopping Center.
Having spent much time in Las Vegas and Los Angeles, sometimes I do get a little nostalgic. There is no other place in London more American than a glitzy shopping mall. I don't even have to shop. I just go there and walk around for a few hours haha.

9: Somerfield Soy Milk.
How much a geek can i sound like right now haha. But I can't drink milk (I get the farts). Soy is a must for me. Somerfields soy milk is the best I've found so far. I'm hooked on it.

10: My London A-Z.
without it I am nothing.

5 IRRITATIONS

1: Crocks!!!!!
I HATE THESE THINGS!!!! They are the ugliest shoes known to man, I don't care if they are comfortable. You look like Sh!t. I thought by moving to London, it would be too cold to wear these things. How I was so wrong!

2:The recycle collectors
Don't get me wrong I am all about being green, what irritates me are the collectors that come to pick up my recyclables. I leave my bin outside my door like I am instructed to. But I have to treasure hunt to find where they have flung my empty bin afterwards.

3: The London Tube.
I loved how warm it was in the winter. But now that summer is on its way, I'm noticing that the tubes are smelling more and more like sweaty armpits.

4: The Kanye West Shutter Sunglasses.
We all know what I'm talking about. They are for sale outside of any High Street store. My question is, who is buying them? And if you are... WHY!?!? They look ridiculous.

5: The general use of the word Vintage.
I have never seen so many Vintage shops before I moved to London. Yes if its Vintage, then that means its old. But not all old things are vintage. Most of it is just plain OLD!!!!
